Dr. Yanet Ybarra, OTD, OTR/L. Founder/Owner/CEO
Dr. Yanet is the founder and co-owner of Compassion Pediatrics, a pediatric therapy company dedicated to helping children with developmental needs thrive through occupational, physical, and speech therapy.
She earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from A.T. Still University in Arizona and has extensive experience working with children in home health, ABA settings, clinic-based care, and telehealth.
She has contributed to the field of occupational therapy through research and publication, including work recognized in Willard & Spackmanβs Occupational Therapy.
As a bilingual provider, Dr. Yanet offers care in both English and Spanish, ensuring families feel supported, understood, and empowered throughout their childβs therapy journey.
Dr. Yanet is passionate about creating meaningful outcomes for children and building a practice centered on compassionate, family-focused care.
Dr. Michael is a co-owner of Compassion Pediatrics, where he is passionate about helping children reach their fullest potential while supporting families every step of the way. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine in December 2024, graduating with High Honors while building Compassion Pediatrics alongside his wife and co-owner, Yanet Ybarra.
With over 15 years of experience in physical therapy, Dr. Michael also holds a Masterβs degree in Healthcare Administration and has served in leadership roles across organizations in Indiana, New Hampshire, and Arizona. As a former collegiate baseball athlete, he incorporates functional strength training into his approach to help children build strength, confidence, and independence.
Dr. Michael is especially passionate about pediatric therapy and, as a father, is driven by the meaningful impact early intervention can have on a childβs life.

Our Team
Gisell Espinoza, SLPA
Gisell Espinoza is a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) with over 10 years of experience supporting children and their families. She is originally from Nogales, Arizona, and earned her Bachelorβs degree in Speech and Language Sciences, along with Spanish, from the University of Arizona. She later completed her Masterβs degree in Behavior Analysis at Arizona State University.
Gisell is passionate about helping children develop communication skills and creating engaging, meaningful therapy experiences. She has worked with diverse pediatric populations and brings both knowledge and compassion to every session.
Outside of her professional work, Gisell is a proud mother of two. Her children continue to inspire her dedication and commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of the families she serves.
Annette Mahan, M.S., CCC-SLP
Annette Mahan is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist with over 30 years of clinical experience. She holds a Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology and maintains her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Throughout her career, Annette has provided services across a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, schools, teletherapy, and outpatient clinics. She has extensive experience working with individuals across the lifespan, from young children to adults, and values collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to support each clientβs unique communication needs.
Annette is deeply passionate about her work and believes that communication is at the heart of human connection. She is dedicated to ensuring that every individual has the opportunity and right to communicate effectively, and she strives to empower her clients and their families through compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based care.
Holli Pineda is a valued member of the administrative team at Compassion Pediatrics, serving as the Referral and Intake Coordinator. She plays an essential role in supporting families from the very first point of contact, helping guide them through the intake and onboarding process with care, organization, and clear communication.
Holli is passionate about creating a smooth and seamless experience for both patients and families. She works closely with families, providers, and the clinical team to ensure services are coordinated efficiently and that each step of the process feels supportive and stress-free.
She takes pride in building positive connections with families and strives to make every interaction welcoming and helpful.
Outside of work, Holli enjoys spending quality time with her family and reading.
